Obituary for Dorothy "Dottie" Finizio (Schmall)
A fun and enthusiastic person who was always the life of the party, Dorothy "Dottie" Finizio, age 82, passed away Friday, December 1st, 2017 at her home in Dayton.
She was born July 3rd, 1935 in Dayton to Marie (Arnold) Schmall and Bernard Schmall. Dottie earned a Bachelor's of Science in Business (Economics) in 1978 from Wright State University. She was formerly employed at Bendix Corporation for 19 years where she worked as an Administrative Assistant.
Dottie will be remembered for her joie de vivre, her sense of humor, and how her and her husband Frank were always present at the familys' major life milestones. She loved to travel, meet new people, and visit casinos. She also loved her pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years, Franklin P. Finizio; sister, Mary A (Schmall) Kessler; brothers, Bernard "Bud" Schmall, Jr. and Robert "Bob" Schmall; and grand-nephew, Joseph "Joe" Kessler.
Dottie is survived by her nieces and nephews, Marie Kessler, Kathleen Kessler, Leo "Skip" Kessler, III, Joseph "Joe" Kessler, Susan "Sue" Schmall, Sally Schmall, Nickolas "Nick" Schmall, Teresa "Terry" (Schmall) VanHorne, Bernard "Bernie" Schmall, III, and Mark Schmall; grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Jennifer Kessler, Sarah Kessler, Michael "Misha" Kessler, Samuel "Sammy" Sabo, Chelsea M. (Kessler) Kemlage, Leo Kessler IV, Jessica (Schmall) Geyer, Vanessa (Schmall) Smith, Jenni Schmall, Joshua Schmall, and Reanna Schmall: great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews, Cambria Geyer, Shanna Geyer, Imani Smith , Vincent Smith, Evangeline Smith, Henry Smith, Lola Monroe Schmall and Andrew Schmall.
To help the family celebrate her life, you are invited to her visitation on Friday December 15th from 5-7pm at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 16th, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
