Obituary for Arlie Hall

Arlie Hall, age 82, passed away peacefully, at his home, in the loving care of his daughter, Heather, on Saturday, March 5th, 2022.

Arlie was born at home, in the rolling hills of West Virginia, on September 23, 1939 to Irene (Claypool) Hall and Arlie Hall Sr. Arlie was a loving husband to Donna for over 59 years. Together they built a life full of love and laughter, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

As a young adult, Arlie found his trade in plumbing. He eventually accepted a position at General Motors, and retired in 1999. Although plumbing was his profession, Arlie was very handy and could do almost anything around the house. He and Donna enjoyed doing many home projects together through the years.

Arlie and Donna spent many years together at Dale Hollow Lake taking boat rides, fishing, and bobbing in the water. When the kids were there Arlie enjoyed taking them skiing, tubing, jumping off the cliffs, and ending the day by going out to eat at one of the docks.

Arlie was always happy to have all his “babies “ around for the holidays. The house full of love and food. His favorite being Donna’s pumpkin pie! Arlie and Donna also enjoyed long convertible rides in the country and getting an ice cream cone on the way home. Also, sitting in the sunroom with a cup of coffee watching the birds with their kitties.

Arlie was a member of Christ's Church. His relationships with his church family were very important to him, and he also enjoyed going out to eat with friends after church, and time spent with the men's group.

Arlie was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie Hall Sr. and Irene Claypool Hall Jones, wife Donna Kaye Hall, sister Barbara Jean (Hall) Meehan, brother Roy Allen Hall, and son-in-law Darrin Edwards. Survived by daughters Pamela Hall and Heather Edwards-Umstead (Doug), grandchildren Jessica (Todd) Wyman, Emily (Sam) Asher, Cole Brown, Savannah Martindale, great-grandchildren Owen and Annamae Wyman, Nolan Asher, and Norah Asher, and many close friends.
