Obituary

Obituary for Billy "Bill" R Barlow

A humble, sweeet, and quiet man, Billy "Bill" Barlow, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was 81. Bill was born on March 6, 1939 in Gainesboro, Tennessee to Jewell (Carwile) and Sim Barlow.

Bill served his country with honor in the Army Reserves. He attended Tennessee Tech where he majored in Civil Engineering. Bill retired after a long and stable career as a mason. He had worked as a field superintendent for Pence & Denny, then for himself as Barlow's Masonry, and also for Danis.

Bill has always loved woodworking, making several tables, stands and other kinds of furniture for family and friends. Growing up near Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee, his passion as a younger man was for fishing. As he got older and retired, he enjoyed spending the day at the golf course, and was especially fond of golfing with his buddy, Jim Angel.

Bill is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 58 years, Betty (Graham) Barlow, their adopted son, Brian Koch and his wife Donna, their three daughters and their families, Mackenzie Williams, her husband Travis, and their two boys, Rhett and Hayes; Addison Roth, her husband Zach, and their daughter Lowen; and Brydon Koch and her husband Matt; Brian and Donna's adopted son, Cole Franks, sister Betty Dillion, nephews Jeff Dillon and his wife Carolyn; Gary Dillon; and Wayne Dillon and his wife Tina.

You are invited to Bill's life celebration beginning with a visitation on Monday June 29th from 10:00am - 12:00 noon and continuing with the funeral at noon at the Centerville Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Miami Cemetery, Corwin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's memory to Centerville Church of Christ, 1411 Old Spring Valley Ct., Centerville, Ohio 45458.

You are welcome to send a condolence, plant a tree and share a story about Bill here on his online book of memories.

We'll always remember churning our ice cream in the back yard, using your gunny sack to break up the ice. We had some good times together.
