Obituary for Gertrude Moore (Pence)

Gertrude Moore, age 96, formerly of Jamestown, passed away Friday, May 10th, 2019 in Xenia at Hospitality Center. She was born October 29th, 1922 to the late Amanda (Vancleve) and Ealy Pence. Gertrude was a dedicated wife and mother with many unique gifts. She enjoyed quilting, cooking with vegetables from her garden, and good, classic stories, either bound in book form or portrayed on the big screen. Gertrude also had a strong faith, and was a member of the Methodist church in New Jasper for 50 years. She loved to wear her best shoes and jewelry for a night out, enjoyed all the famous old hymns, family get togethers, and all forms of sweets.

Gertrude is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald C. Moore, sister Ora Brunner, brothers Roland, John, Alfred, Raleigh, and dogs, Peppy, Donna, and Taco. Gertrude is survived by son Ronald B. Moore (Pat), daughter Linda Sue Webb, grandchildren Daniel (Lindsay) Moore, David Moore, Lori (Gary) Lipsey, Jennifer Puckett, Tom (Angie) Webb, great-grandchildren Whitney, Brittany (Nate), Nick (Hailey), Lydia, Nolan, great-great-grandchildren Aubree, Parker, Hudson, Avery, sisters Mollie Huggins, Ellen Farra, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

To help the family celebrate her life, you are invited to share during her Life Celebration Visitation at Conner and Koch Life Celebration Home (92 W. Franklin St. Bellbrook, OH 45305) Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with services to follow. Burial will be immediately after services at Bellbrook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to National Multiple Sclerosis Society P.O. Box 4527 New York, NY 10163 or to Vitas Healthcare 3055 Kettering Blvd Ste 400, Moraine, OH 45439.
