Jack Lee Johnson, age 90, of Waynesville, passed away on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 at his home, and has now been reunited with his best friend and beloved son, Danny Johnson.
Jack was born on August 16th, 1932 to Anna (Dill) Johnson and Willard Johnson. Jack joined the United States Air Force where he served as a Master Sergeant. He retired from the Air Force before beginning work for the US Postal Service, where he worked for 20 years before retirement. Jack started a cleaning and sewing business after his retirement from the postal service with his son and owned both for an additional 22 years.
Those who knew and loved Jack knew him to be a stubborn and determined man. A perfectionist at heart. Jack wasn't a man of many words but people respected Jack and was better by knowing him. Jack was proud of his service to this country and always took pride in anything he did. His greatest joy was time spent with his son. Whether mowing the grass, shooting pool, or just spending time together Jack always stated those were his favorite memories.
In his later years people would see him frequenting his favorite hang out, B&B Carryout. Jack was loved immensely by his family and they will always cherish the times spent together.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Anna Johnson, wife Myrleen Johnson, son Danny Johnson (Shirley), and brother Richard Johnson. Jack is survived by his daughter Tonya Soroosh (Erik Mahumed), grandchildren Danielle (Heather) Johnson, Jackie Johnson, and Alireza Soroosh, great-grandchildren Laila, Alireza Jr., Amir, Daniel, Christopher, and Wesley, and sister Sylvia Ann Weiser.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Larry & Lisa Cook and to the B&B "family" for the tremendous care and devotion they showed towards Jack, especially in the years after the death of his son.
To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to attend his visitation at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home (92 W.
