Handyman and jokester, John E. "Jack" Hopkins, age 94, of Centerville, passed away on Sunday, October 25th, 2020.

Jack was born on October 2nd, 1926 to Ralph Hopkins and Lela Bessie (Martindale). Jack served his country by joining the Navy during World War II. He was a proud veteran and a proud American.

Jack loved tinkering and "making sawdust" as the family always joked. He enjoyed taking old, unused things and making them work like new again. He enjoyed square dancing, watching the Price is Right, and eating the burnt ends of prime rib. Jack also loved spending time in Largo, Florida where he would often ride his bike to see friends, visit with the neighbors dachshund, and look for items to salvage.

Jack was a stalwart supporter of Bellbrook and the Lions Club, a member of both the American Legion Post #761 and Masonic Lodge #163, and a dedicated Red Cross blood donor.

He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Hopkins and his mother Lela Bessie (Martindale).

Jack will be dearly missed by his wife, Deloris B. Hopkins, sons Randal Hopkins (Ann) and Mitchal Hopkins (Vicki), grandchildren Andrew Hopkins (Alexandra), Kate Moinard (Antoine), and Joy Whipple, great-grandchildren Madeline, Paige, Jack Alan, Naomi, Talia, and Josie, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to share stories and memories during the visitation at Conner and Koch Life Celebration Home (92 W. Franklin St, Bellbrook, OH 45305) from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 29th. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm following the visitation. Interment to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens (1639 E Lytle 5 Points Rd, Centerville, OH 45458).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 22478
Oklahoma City, OK 73123) and encourages everyone to participate in a blood drive through the Red Cross in memory of Jack. You are welcome to send a condolence, share a story, or upload a picture of Jack at
