Obituary for John Francis Rammel II
John Francis Rammel, II, age 68, of Kettering, passed away Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born May 11th, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio to Geneva (Jolly) and John Rammel. He attended Ascension Catholic School and graduated from Kettering Fairmont East High School in 1972. Afterwards John enrolled at RETS Tech where he earned an Associate Degree in 1977 for HVAC.
Having lost his father at an early age, he was very dedicated to his family and enjoyed a full house on Christmas Eve and decorating for Halloween. John was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends at Ohio Power and Delco Park. He also could be found at NASCAR races and playing baseball at the Park with neighborhood friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Harmon. John is survived by wife of 44 years, Beth (Adams); children John F. (Christi) Rammel, III and Lisa A. (Thom) Smith; grandchildren Peyton Rammel, Blake Rammel, Amelia Smith, Gibson Smth, Ella Smith, Isabelle Atkins, and Jake Atkins; as well as his siblings Paul, Karen and Peter, sister-in-law Monica (David) Gregg, and many friends and neighbors..
The family will be holding a private memorial service, and ask in lieu of flowers, to make donations in his memory to Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45402 or online at https://www.hospiceofdayton.org/donations/).
