Obituary for John Stubbs

Stubbs, John, age 62, of Dayton, passed away Friday, October 12th, 2018.

John was born January 25th, 1956 to Gerald Monroe Stubbs and Rose Mary Stubbs (Youngerman). He worked for Time Warner for 33 years as a lineman. John loved his wife of 42 years and high school sweetheart, Karen, more than anything. He enjoyed target shooting and collecting ammo, nighttime strolls in his car on a country road or with his feet in sand on a Florida beach, flashlight in hand for both. He was known for his teasing and joking, and his family will miss having his flashlight shining in their eyes as they walked in the door. He taught his grandkids valuable skills like swimming and cooking, but most importantly, he taught them how to shoot. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son John Stubbs Jr., Kendra "Key" Menefee, sisters Joyce and Judy, father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles and Geraldine Pinney, and brother-in-law Doug Pinney.

John is survived by his wife, Karen, daughter Kristina Nugent (Sean), grandkids Kaylee, Logan, and Johnathon Shannon, Elizabeth and Casey Nugent, brother Gerald Stubbs, sister Deborah Stubbs, goddaughter Mandy Stubbs and her children Lauren and Karson.

Please, respect the family's privacy at this time as they will be holding a private memorial. You are welcome to share stories, condolences, and pictures as well as send flowers or light a candle for John at www.ConnerAndKoch.com by clicking on his name.
