Obituary for Kenneth Will "Ken" Isbell

Isbell, Kenneth Will "Ken", age 74, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born September 17th, 1946 to Edith (Curtis) and William Isbell.

Ken served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was 100% marine and was proud of his military service. He earned an associates degree in electronics from Sinclair College. Ken had an impeccable work ethic as he previously worked and retired as a Punch Press Operator from General Motors, and more recently a Driver/Tech at Cardinal Health.

Ken loved military and Marine Corps history, tinkering with cars and has always been intrigued by how things are made and earned the nickname of "King of the jerry rig" as his favorite tools were a coat hanger and duct tape. He was previously a Bellbrook PeeWee Football Coach and Assistant High School Football Coach who had an positive impact on his athletes.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, son Ron "Izzy" Isbell, step-dad John Campbell, and brother-in-law John Sereiveld. He is survived by his wife Jackie, two sons Richard (Yvonne) and John (Brooke), daughter-in-law Tami Ferguson, "alt" son Jerry Hawker; eight grandchildren Devyn, Rick, Ravyn, Isaak, Ainsley, Julie, Koty, and Kass, two brothers Richie and Thurman (Linda).

I am so sorry for your loss of brother, husband, father and friend.

I grew up across the street from Kenny, Rich and TT. I have great memories of all of us neighbor kids playing outside at all hours, particularly late at night. We could do that then!! Innocent times. After hide and go seek, we would convince Kenny to tell us the stories of "Bloody Bones". We always wanted his stories every night, regardless of how many times some were repeat stories. This was a time when we allowed all our neighbors. Still thoughts of those days bring a warm smile. Kenny was loved by all.
Enjoy all your wonderful memories I'm sure you have! Thoughts, prayers and love!!
Mary Rose and all the Phillips family and the Vale Drive crew!!❤🙏
