A helpful, humble and hospitable person, Nettie R. Skinner, of Dayton, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 11th, 2020. She was 93.

She was born September 8th, 1926, a native of Estile County, Kentucky. She was always grateful until God called her home.

Nettie was preceded in death by her son, Gary Skinner; four sisters and six brothers. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved daughters, Thelma Jean Fortenberry (Phillip) of Rogersville, Tennessee, Anna Kilburn (Tim) of Kettering, and Delores Perkins (Tom) of Centerville; nine grandchildren, Dougie, Danielle, Phillip, Troy, Courtney, Quincy, Damien, Haley, and Kelsey; and nine great-grandchildren, Michael, Douglas, Taylor, Layton, Harlow, Crew, O'Malley, Jaycee, and Kolby.

Nettie loved cooking for her family. She will be remembered for the delicious aromas in her home as she made her biscuits and gravy (with chipped beef), pork chops and bacon, and fried potatoes and onions. She cherished traveling to and walking the hills of Kentucky. She had a passion for flowers and gardening, working word searches, and loved hymns and dancing, especially to upbeat Bluegrass.

To help the family celebrate her life, you are invited to gather on Saturday March 14th from 3-5 pm at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook. Private entombment services at Davids Cemetery. You are welcome to send a condolence or flowers, plant a tree and share a story about Nettie at by clicking on her name.
