Obituary for Robert Hamilton

A self-reliant and independant man who was the life of the party, Robert "Bob" Hamilton, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at O.S.U.'s Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born on August 25, 1952 in Dayton to Mildred Margebell (Coder) and Marvin Milton Hamilton. Bob was retired from Roadway Trucking Company in Cincinnati where he worked as a mechanic. He also worked for many years at Standard Register as a millwright.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Bill Riggs. He is survived by his daughter Tonya Cintron (Rick); siblings, Mike Hamilton (Pattie), Diane Riggs, Greg Hamilton (Carol), and Rick Hamilton; and close friends Jeff & Julie Umstead.

Bob was a mechanic and millwright by trade, making him very capable and handy, he was the type of guy that could do anything. He even built his house from the ground up. Bob loved hunting in Ball Town, Kentucky, using both a gun and a bow, and fishing at Camp Mac in Florida. As a self reliant man, he raised his own food from chickens, cows, and pigs to a large and flourishing garden. As the life of the party, he also enjoyed hosting his own pig roasts. Bob was also a motorcycle biker and belonged to ABATE. He enjoyed going motor homing, camping, and doing absolutely anything he could in the great outdoors. As a younger man, Bob loved cars and used to race at Kilcare Speedway in his Camaro.

A Life Celebration Service will be held privately at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. You are welcome to share a memory with the family at by clicking on his name.

Oh ..... the stories I could tell you about Bob Hamilton! I met Bob in the early 70's when I worked with him at Miami Industrial Trucks in Dayton Ohio. We always had a good time together no matter what situation we might find ourselves in. The years and the miles had caused us to grow apart and not keep in touch, which I now know was a mistake that should have been rectified many years ago. It saddens me deeply to hear of his passing. We will visit again with Bob, but it will not be at the Miamisburg Drive-in Theater ..... just another one of "Those Stories".

The saying "the good die young" is very true in this case.
Bob was truly a good and decent human being. I believe God took him home early to spare him suffering. He is now with his parents, Bill and his grandbaby, Taylor. My sister Debbie is up there and I know she is right there with Bob; Debbie just adored him. Bob is not alone, and I know he will be looking down upon all of his beloved family and dear friends from this day forward. Every time you see a deer or a beautiful vegetable garden, he is with you in that moment. And every time you enjoy a nice cold beer, think of Bob. He always said that was his steak and eggs in a can (I know that made you smile!). He had a way of doing that with people.
My Deepest Sympathies to the entire Hamilton Family,
Beverly (Allen) Midolo
