Sharon Elaine Williams, age 83, of Centerville, passed away on Thursday, December 29th, 2022. She was born, the youngest of five, on March 5th, 1939 in Caro, Michigan to Alfred and Alice (Cartwright) Brink.
Sharon graduated from Akron High School in 1957 and then became engaged to Robert "Sam" Williams. Sam served in the military during their engagement, causing them to exchange many love letters, all of which were kept and cherished by Sharon. She and Sam had a deep and true love, the kind of love people dream of, and Sharon kept every card and momento given to her throughout their marriage, usually with flowers and other small gifts. Sadly, she lost Sam in 1989.
Sharon began working in Wilmington, Ohio for Airborne Express as a sorter in 1988. She worked there for over 20 years, was a mother hen to everyone she worked with, and often carried treats with her to "bribe" fellow employees to help her with any packages that might have been too heavy for her.
Despite being a very private person, her kids and all their friends were always welcome in her home, most commonly to raid the pudding cup cabinet. Sharon enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and doing yard work, loved country music especially Johnny Cash and the other classic artists, and was always very generous to childrens and veteran charities. She also loved taking trips to Michigan to visit family, including all of her nieces and nephews. Most importantly, Sharon has a very strong faith in God. She will be deeply missed.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Alice (Cartwright) Brink, husband Robert "Sam" Williams, and her four older siblings. Sharon is survived by her children Karen (Wayne) Buckley of Wilmington, Ohio, Keith (Karen) Williams of Sound Beach, New York, and Joyce (Jerry) Ellis of Centerville, Ohio; and grandchildren Kenneth Williams of Rocky Point, New York, Michael Williams of Swanzey, New Hampshire, Alex Buckley of Columbus, Ohio, Craig Buckley of Wilmington, Ohio, and Laura Dillion of Wilmington, Ohio.
The family will hold private services, and Sharon will be buried at Clinton County Memorial Gardens in Wilmington, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society (online at https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate/memorial-giving.html) or Pink Ribbon Girls (350 Huls Rd, Clayton, Ohio 45315 or online at www.pinkribbongirls.org/).
