One memory I'll always cherish is the day I got to teach AJ how to drive a stick shift in his car. After that we sat around the fire at his place and discovered we had met many years ago at Grandpa mcadams house when he was there swimming with us kids and his cousin Tommy Catherine. That man was such a bright soul. When we first started hanging out last summer I was going thru some hard times but Aj always had a way of making everyone laugh and my mood would get better just talking with him. One of the most free spirited, hyper intelligent nature loving, honest human beings that i am proud to call my best friend. Love ya buddy

We haven’t talked in a very long time but I would think about you on brief occasions.
I was very shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news. In the moments we did hang together; largely at music events, you were a lighthearted, carefree and positive man. You brought an exciting energy that welcomed me and many other people.
If I had stayed in contact more closely over these years I think we could’ve been best friends with a lot of shared interests and memories. It breaks my heart knowing this opportunity has slipped away but it encourages me to be better for the future and to not forget about you. Rest easy.

I meet AJ Parkers at Wilmington school in 6th grade. I was so sad when I hear that AJ Parkes died. He was a kind person and kind and caring person that anyone could meet. Rest in peace Buddy. Until we meet again I will always have you has a friend in my heart. I love you like a brother.
We were all in college at Wright State. We all went over to a friends house and somebody brought up body building and that they eat raw eggs for breakfast. AJ, of course, explained that it really wouldn’t be that bad, as we all looked at him and laughed. Without even thinking, AJ said, “hey man, do you have an egg?” And with the biggest smile on all of our faces, we watched in amazement as AJ slurped down a raw egg from a cup like it was water.
It wasn’t the trips to Vegas, my 21st birthday, or the cruise to Mexico that sticks in my brain, it’s always how fearless he was in-front of everybody with that dang egg and the way his face lit up after it. Always making us laugh. Always unapologetically himself. Let’s all live a bit more as AJ did by showing us all that bravery can be proven by something as simple as cracking an egg.
Forever grateful for every memory and adventure we shared! You had such a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed sweet friend!
