Allene Circle-Rader's Obituary
CIRCLE-RADER, Allene, age 89, of Bellbrook, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville.
Allene earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wright State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Whittier College. She retired in 2000 as a kindergarten teacher from Bellbrook City Schools. She was a member of The Bellbrook Presbyterian Church and the Bellbrook Lioness Club.
Faithful, thankful, outgoing, loving, and caring, Allene lived an outgoing and organized life. Her hobbies included flowering gardening, sewing, crafting, and oil and water color painting. She appreciated nature and loved to feed the backyard birds, squirrels and chipmunks, although she was often annoyed by the latter two. However, spending time with her family was her favorite and most important pastime. She loved to play the board game Sorry with her grandchildren, and her competitive spirit kept her from ever letting the grandkids win, which she found amusing. She was an excellent cook, with her banana cream pie, homemade chili, lasagna, homemade ice cream, and scotcheroo cookies being family favorites.
It became a bit of a tradition for Allene to get together with her friends for lunch, which she always looked forward to. She also enjoyed playing euchre with friends on Friday night. She insisted that family get together as often as possible, which usually resulted in get togethers at least on a monthly basis. From holidays to birthdays, she made sure that family stayed close. The Sunday after Thanksgiving, it was a tradition for family to gather to decorate Allene’s home for Christmas. Of course, after everyone left, she fixed it her way. Christmas was celebrated at her home for 41 years. Among many things, she will always be remembered for her love of the color yellow and daisies. She found herself collecting items that contained daisies.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley Circle; friend and second husband, Ben Rader; her parents, Allen and Wilma Wilson; brother R.B. Wilson; and her sister and best friend, Margie Stallings. She is survived by three children, Mike (Jill) Circle, Jeff Circle, and Sally (Phil) Smallwood; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, November 2 at The Presbyterian Church in Bellbrook. Pastor Diane Ziegler will be officiating. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM Thursday at the church. Conner & Koch Life Celebration Funeral Home is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton or the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
