Andrew M. Fetty's Obituary
A hard working man with a quick wit and a grateful heart, Andrew Michael Fetty, age 49, of Waynesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 in Dayton.
He was born on June 5th, 1972 to Karen Keaton (Farra) and William Fetty. After completing high school in Kettering, he began working at General Motors Delphi. His work as a Job Setter was laborious, but he often worked overtime, never missed a day, and greatly enjoyed the fact that he could work with his hands. Andy also trained and worked temporarily as an auxiliary police officer for Waynesville.
Andy loved to go deer and turkey hunting, usually with his dad and brothers, for both gun and bow seasons. They would often camp too, and both activities became lifelong hobbies that he later shared with his son. He always kept a beautiful yard and enjoyed growing and gardening his flowers. Andy was a gifted cook, he knew how to season things perfectly and made the best tuna boats, salmon, and grilled steak. He enjoyed using his hands to work on cars and motorcycles, and to make small, useful things out of wood. When he was young, He enjoyed going to Rocky Fork Lake and Lake Cumberland for boating and waterskiing with his grandpa and family. Andy always looked forward to time with his large, Italian family, and all of his friends. Andy loved to laugh and joke, and kept his sense of humor no matter what. He was a loyal friend, a dedicated father, and a caring husband, and his presence will be deeply missed in the lives of so many.
Andy was preceded in death by his mother Karen Keaton and grandparents James Farra, and William and Henrietta Fetty. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Katie" Fetty, son Andrew "Hunter" Fetty and Hunter's mother, Sherri Smith, father William "Bill" (Elaine) Fetty, grandmother Ellen Farra, siblings Tony (Chanel) Fetty, Danny (Janell) Puslat, Lisa (Ira) Young, Lee (Heather) Fetty, and in-laws Stan and Byrdie Lorenz, and Joe Lorenz.
An enormous thank you to Dr. Hayes and the staff in the ICU at Miami Valley Hospital for all their help and care.
