Anne M. Carlisle's Obituary
CARLISLE, Anne M., age 57, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
Anne devoted more than 35 years to a career in accounting. She retired in the summer of 2025 from CareSource, following years of service with Kettering Health and Wright State University. She graduated from Marion Local High School and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Wright State University.
A faithful member of SouthBrook Christian Church, Anne lived her life grounded in a deep and abiding faith in God that guided her actions, relationships, and the way she cared for others. She was known for her creativity, compassion, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her two sons were truly the center of her life, and she found tremendous joy in supporting and encouraging those she loved. Anne had a remarkable ability to solve problems, listen without judgment, and help anyone in need. Her warm personality, generous spirit, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Anne's talents and hobbies reflected her creative nature. An avid quilter, she dedicated an entire room of her home to quilting projects and loved creating handmade treasures for family and friends. She also generously shared her talents with others, creating quilts and handmade items for charitable causes and community events. One of her favorite projects involved making red, white, and blue quilts and crafts for a Fourth of July charitable endeavor, combining her love of creativity and helping others. She enjoyed gardening and took great pride in the beautiful flowers and vegetables she cultivated around her home. Her passion for canning extended far beyond her own garden, preserving green beans, salsa, jams, jellies, and even chicken. She enjoyed canning with her sisters, often purchasing additional produce beyond what she grew herself, and took great pride in teaching them the craft and helping create a family tradition that continued through the years.
Anne also enjoyed painting, ceramics, shopping, and spending time with friends. She was especially known for organizing family Christmas arts-and-crafts gatherings, a beloved tradition that spanned decades and brought loved ones together to create, laugh, and make memories. Anne also hosted annual family pumpkin-carving gatherings each Halloween, another cherished tradition that family members looked forward to year after year. She loved baking for her family, especially zucchini muffins, chicken and noodles, no-bake cookies for one son, and chocolate chip cookies for the other.
Anne enjoyed traveling and creating lasting memories with those she loved. Through the years, family trips to Sanibel Island and Myrtle Beach became treasured traditions that everyone looked forward to. She and Tim also enjoyed several trips to Las Vegas with close friends. Anne especially enjoyed accompanying her husband on adventures in their restored 1974 white Corvette. She was a devoted animal lover, particularly toward stray dogs, and opened her heart and home to many rescued companions throughout the years, including Chloe, Whiskers, Winnie, B.B., and Macy.
One of Anne's most treasured relationships was with her mother-in-law, who preceded her in death in 2013. The two shared a bond more like that of mother and daughter than of in-laws. They loved shopping together, especially their annual Black Friday outings that would begin before dawn and continue throughout the day. Her father-in-law often remarked that he considered Anne a daughter because of the closeness they shared.
Preceding Anne in death were her parents, Ernest Monnin and Connie Winner. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Timothy "Tim" Carlisle; her two sons, Jacob (Elly) Carlisle and Zachary Carlisle; her beloved granddaughter, Hazel Anne, who was named after her grandmother; her brother, Matt (Darlene) Monnin; her three sisters, Julie (Jim) Poeppelman, Jenni (Bob) Paulus, and Amy (Gary) Moeller; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, June 12, at SouthBrook Christian Church in Centerville. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation at 6 PM on Friday, with Steve Holt officiating. Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook is serving the family. In lieu of flowers and in Anne’s memory and honor, contributions may be made to ALS United Ohio at https://www.alsohio.org. Condolences may be shared at https://www.connerandkoch.com.
