Loving, caring, very friendly, and well-liked by all who knew her, April will always be remembered for her bright smile and amazing laugh. She loved the outdoors, especially the many family hikes to local parks with her dogs. She was a pet lover, caring for a variety of animals over the years, from dogs, tortoises, birds, and more. She was particularly fond of a few special dogs - Gus, Daisy, Caesar, Duke, and Willow. She greatly enjoyed flower gardening, especially roses and daisies. Her other interests included audiobooks and listening to country and bluegrass music.
April loved cooking and baking. Among so many delicious meals and treats she made, her family will always look back fondly on her peanut butter fudge, homemade quiche, Swiss cheese chicken, and pecan pie. She loved celebrating birthdays of her family members, which became a fond tradition. In particular, she always made a special cake to top off the celebration. One of her more noteworthy creations was a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, complete with Whoppers candy on the top.
April grew up in Virginia and always loved visiting Virginia Beach. In addition, it became a tradition for her and the family to enjoy the beach in Orange Beach, Alabama. They always stayed in the pink Holiday Inn Express during the trips, which she loved. In addition to the usual beach activities, she enjoyed spending time at the hotel pool and dining at local seafood restaurants. During one of her beach trips, she won the local watermelon contest, a memory that has become cherished by the entire family.
