Audrey E. Dye's Obituary
DYE, Audrey E., age 97, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at her residence.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lisa (Craig) Randall, granddaughters Lauren (Ryan) Breth,
Hayley (Colten) Marsh and four great-grandchildren.
Audrey was a member of Parkview Church of the Nazarene in Kettering, Ohio.
Family-oriented, full of life, and always ready to share a good story, Audrey took great pride in caring for her family and her home. She was known by all for keeping an immaculate house and beautifully landscaped yard and for never leaving home without being “put together” with her hair done and lipstick on. She especially enjoyed people coming to visit and sharing her personal stories with friends and family about her life growing up in Bracken County, Kentucky.
Audrey was married for 63 years to the love of her life, Lewis (otherwise known as “Junior” to all).
Her favorite activities in earlier years consisted of weekend shopping at Rike’s Department Store, attending church each Sunday, hosting the big annual family Christmas gathering, complete with gifts under the tree and a big holiday feast, and enjoying her role as wife and mother. Her idea of vacation meant visiting her family home in Kentucky, where she grew up, and laying flowers on the graves of those she loved and had lost. Among many things, she will be remembered most for the love she poured into her husband, Junior; her only child and daughter, Lisa; her son-in-law, Craig (also known as her “very favorite person”); her cherished granddaughters, Lauren and Hayley; and her great-grandchildren Ellie, Everett, Easton, and Romy.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis (Junior) Dye, in 2021; her parents, Alonzo and Eva Black; four brothers, William, Henry, Herman, and Claude Black; and five sisters, Mae Whaley, Ruby Teegarden, Mildred Smith, Beatrice Norris, and Dorothy Dobson.
There will be a visitation for friends and family at 11:00 AM, with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 on Saturday, June 22, at Parkview Church of the Nazarene, 4701 Far Hills Avenue, Kettering, Ohio. Pastor Ron Reynolds will be officiating. Conner & Koch Funeral Home is serving the family.
