Genevieve Berryhill (Stephens)'s Obituary
Berryhill, Genevieve (Stephens) was born on June 15, 1918 to Harry and Esther (Hunter) Stephens in Bellbrook, Ohio. She graduated from BHS in 1936 and spent her life loving the city of Bellbrook, its history, and its people. She was a lifelong member of the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church where she was always one of the first to volunteer to cook meals and serve others, a member of the Bellbrook Museum board, co-author of the 1966 Bellbrook History book, she received Bellbrook’s Citizen of the Year Award, and was also inducted into the Bellbrook High School Hall of Fame. She married Harold Berryhill and enjoyed being a farm wife and homemaker for her family. She considered the farm her “queendom” and loved it (and all its livestock) dearly. She raised three boys and was very active in their lives. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Esther Stephens, her husband Harold Berryhill, brother Wayne Stephens, and sister Shirley Ferguson. She is survived by 3 sons Steve (Sharon) Berryhill, John (Linda) Berryhill, and David (Janet) Berryhill, 6 grandchildren Anji (Mark), Andrew (Kim), Marian (Gideon), Hunter, Amber (Guy), Jonathon (Megan), and 7 great-grandchildren Lance, Matthew, Jacob, Eleanor, Evelyn, Liam, and Ella. You are welcome to join family and friends for a life celebration visitation on Sunday Nov. 15th at Bellbrook Presbyterian Church (72 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook) from 1-2 pm with a life celebration service to follow at 2 pm. When attending services, please wear purple and gold in memory of Genevieve and her dedication to and love for the city of Bellbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bellbrook Presbyterian Church or Bellbrook Historical Society.
