Chad E. Snow's Obituary
SNOW, Chad E., age 53, of Xenia, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his beloved home in the Greene County countryside.
Chad was born to Tom and Carolyn Snow in Dayton on February 23, 1972. He graduated from Centerville High School, class of ’91. He worked for over 30 years as a master carpenter and has been employed with Remodeling Designs, Inc., for the last 24 years, where he was loved like family.
His true passion was being outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Some of his happiest times could be found walking in the woods, sitting in his tree stand, mushroom and shed hunting, and gardening with his daughter, Ava. Lake Erie, Caesar Creek Lake, and the Spring Lakes in Bellbrook were favorite fishing spots, where he would spend time with his daughter, family, and friends. He was a wealth of knowledge about a number of things and taught his daughter about wildlife, trees, and his love of the outdoors. Chad taught his daughter various vegetables, how to identify them, and, more importantly, how to grow them. He and Ava landscaped his home and worked in the gardens together, growing various vegetables and flowers. Asparagus, pumpkins, and sunflowers were among their favorites. They also raised chickens and pigs at times.
He was a great cook both in the kitchen and on the grill. He passed this love on to his daughter, and they were always trying exotic foods and creating new dishes. He especially enjoyed ice cream, seafood, and dinners from China Cottage. With a great sense of humor, he was always quick with a joke. He was known for his devoted and hardworking personality, which made you know he was always just a phone call away if needed. He appreciated antiques and tools, he could fix just about anything, and if he didn’t know how, he would always figure it out. Decorating for Halloween and Christmas with his daughter became a regular tradition. In addition, every Wednesday night, another tradition with his daughter was watching Survivor, or during the fall, they would watch the Cincinnati Bengals play. Chad got a kick out of shooting off fireworks every New Year's and the Fourth of July, and watching those of the surrounding communities from his deck and sometimes his roof. He also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Among many things, Chad will be remembered for his love and pride for his daughter, Ava.
Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Sue Snow, in 2019, and his brother, Thomas “Tommy” Snow Jr., in 2018. He is survived by his father, Thomas “Tom” W. Snow Sr.; his daughter, Ava Snow; his girlfriend of five years, Patty Dudick; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Patty and the family would like to thank the staff of Day City Hospice for their loving support and care of Chad and his family.
A celebration of life service will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. Ray Watts will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.connerandkoch.com.
Chad was truly an incredible son, father, and friend who will forever be deeply missed by all who knew him.
