Charles E. Brown
92, of West Carrollton, formerly of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away Monday September 29, 2014 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born February 13, 1922 in Marco, Indiana to Minnie M. (Pittman) Brown and Harry E. Brown. Charles served his country with honor in the United States Army. He was a faithful, compassionate and loyal man. Charles collected stamps, coins, plates and hats. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and had a love for reading, everything from G.K. Chesterton to “Peanuts”. Some of Charles’ favorite places were Panama Beach Florida, Fairhaven Church, the Library, and anywhere with his granddaughters. He worked for Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central and retired from Conrail in 1982 after 40 years of employment. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George Robert Brown, and his wife Marilyn Brown (June 22, 2001). Charles is survived by two daughters Marquetta Brown of Springfield Ohio, Pendra Lee Snyder (Rick) of Dayton, two granddaughters Briana Lynn Snyder Fehrman (Zachary) of Dayton, Chrysanthi Wilson of Columbus, and his dog Tuffy. The family will receive friends Monday October 6th from 5-7 pm at CONNER & KOCH FUNERAL HOME, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). A life celebration will follow at 7:00 pm at CONNER & KOCH with Rev. Rick Snyder officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City, Indiana on Tuesday at 11:00 am.
