Conner Douglas Puckett's Obituary
PUCKETT, Conner Douglas, age 22, of Bellbrook, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Conner graduated from Bellbrook High School, class of 2024. He was a member of the Beaver United Church of Christ in Beavercreek. Limited in mobility his entire life, Conner served as the poster child for AIM for the Handicapped in Dayton.
High-spirited, happy, kind, upbeat, full of joy, caring, and loving, Conner was a social butterfly who had a way of lifting the spirits of others by being in the room. He was truly inspiring to friends, family, and to those he met for the first time. Always on the go, he greatly enjoyed rides that were bumpy and windy. He especially enjoyed riding on golf carts, speed boats, and open air vehicles where the wind could hit his face and he could feel free. In addition, he loved floating in his backyard pool, which was an activity that gave him one of his greatest joys. He loved being around people and greatly enjoyed school, especially chatting with his peers and times when someone would read to him.
One of Conner’s favorite hobbies included a weekly therapeutic session in Jamestown riding horses. He loved animals in general, but he especially loved being high upon the back of a horse, with the wind flowing through his hair. He also enjoyed the tradition of getting together with his family in Liberty, Indiana each July for the Hubbard family reunion. With the other side of his family, the Eberly family, Conner enjoyed the tradition of spending Christmas Eve with family for holiday festivities followed by the traditional candle light Christmas Eve service at their church. In support of Conner, a charity event aptly named The Conner Puckett Golf Classic was started to raise money for medical needs, but changed over time to support others with financial medical needs. People would fly in from all over the country to support Conner during the charitable event, resulting in another example of the inspiration he provided to others.
Among many things, Conner will be remembered for doing so much for others, but asking for so little. He will also be remembered for his love of Switch adapted toys and games, his curiosity of the way bubbles float freely through the air, and for the way he would gain the attention of others by using his foot to tap others in a unique way.
Conner was preceded in death by one grandfather, Melvin Puckett. He is survived by his loving parents, Carl and Angie Puckett; his caring brother, Cameron Puckett; grandparents, Jim (Donna) Eberly, Kathy (Butch) Thompson, and Mary Puckett (Jim Sithe); and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many close friends.
The family will receive friends 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 22 at the Beaver United Church of Christ in Beavercreek. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the church with Pastor Brian Eastman officiating the services. A committal service will follow in Bellbrook Cemetery, followed by a meal and fellowship at Candlebrook Farms, 3269 Ferry Rd., Bellbrook, Ohio 45305. Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to AIM for the Handicap, 945 Danbury Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45420 or https://www.aimforthehandicapped.org/donate.html. Condolences at www.connerandkoch.com.
