Kevin And Saundra Cummins
We look upon the passing of Neil and Lillian with deep sorrow. Over 13 years, we became great friends and the best of neighbors, and we experienced many good times together. Personally, they reminded me of the grandparents that raised me, and my wife and I looked upon them with love and respect.
Neil was a great teacher when it came to gardening and horticulture. He loved his yard, his flowers, and his annual garden. I always knew spring had arrived when Neil would ask me to check out the tiller and the lawn mower, and we spent many afternoons on the back porch, where he would tell me stories of his experiences in World War II, talk about his garden, and so forth. I will miss those times.
He always asked after my wife's health and how our daughter, now four, was doing. He would make a special trip to the fence to talk with us, or to me about them, or the trees, or the weather. He and Lillian both were wonderful people to know and to be around. Their 62 years of marriage and devotion to each other should be an inspiration for all of us. They are surely together with the angels now.
Words cannot express how much we will miss both of them. Everyone who knew Neil and Lillian will miss them; they were that rare type of person that is so hard to find in today's world. To lose both of them so closely together is a tragedy for their family, and our thoughts and prayers go out to them during this time of grief and loss.
Vanna, we are very sorry for your loss, and our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Please let us know if there's anything you need that we may be able to help you with.
