Dale C. Smallwood's Obituary
SMALLWOOD, Dale C., age 64, of Bradenton, Florida, and formerly of Bellbrook, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, in Florida.
Dale graduated from Bellbrook High School, class of ’78. He could fix almost anything and often found himself repairing appliances, building things, and performing handy work. He started working in his early days learning stonemasonry, often building chimneys in the Waynesville area.
Dale loved nature. In addition to birds, Dale cared for bees and harvested the honey for many years. He even made candles from the beeswax. He often visited his parents in Okeechobee, Florida, where they lived during the winter months. He often helped them maintain their cottage and sold his honey there. He always enjoyed growing plants and trees, especially coconut trees, which he raised and sold while living in Florida. During his early years, he enjoyed tinkering with and riding his Honda motorcycle, which many in Ohio will remember him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orris Smallwood. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Smallwood; two brothers, Dean (Maureen) Smallwood and Phillip (Sally) Smallwood; and one sister, Connie Smallwood.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the future at Bellbrook Cemetery. Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook is serving the family. Condolences at www.connerandkoch.com.
