Dave W. Rogers' Obituary
David W. Rogers, 68, passed away on August 31, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He was a diehard Bengals and Ohio State fan and a dedicated electrician by trade who illuminated both homes and hearts. He was a loving husband, a proud father, a cherished grandfather, a beloved brother, and a pillar of strength for his family.
Born on April 15, 1955 in Ruislip, England, and raised in Bellbrook, Ohio. After 7 years in the Air Force as an Aircraft Environmental Systems Mechanic, David's passion for electrical work shone brightly throughout his life. His skilled hands and unwavering commitment to his craft made him a trusted professional in the field. He retired in 2019 from Absolute Electric. David's legacy lives on in the countless homes and businesses he powered, including Dots Supermarket, ensuring safety and comfort for many.
David's true source of joy was his family. He adored his wife of 36 years, Joan, and their enduring love was a source of inspiration for all who knew them. His children, Lauren Lynch (and her husband Sean), Justin Rogers (and his wife Liz), Adam Rogers, and Ryan Rogers were the center of his world, and he reveled in every moment spent with them. As a doting grandfather to Kayleigh Lynch, Patrick Lynch, Riley Rogers, and Parker Rogers, he showered them with affection, wisdom, and laughter, creating cherished memories that will endure through generations. He is also survived by his loving sister, Cindy Rogers, and brother, Phil Rogers. He is predeceased by his parents Bud and Shirley Rogers.
David was a man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering love. He taught us the importance of hard work, dedication, and the value of family bonds. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be etched in our hearts. We know that he is rooting for his Buckeyes and Bengals as we all will be.
In his memory, a celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 4 – 6 PM at Conner & Koch Funeral Home (92 West Franklin Street, Bellbrook, OH). Friends and family are invited to join in honoring Dave’s life by wearing their favorite sports team jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association in his name Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ALS) Central & Southern Ohio Chapter, 1170 Old Henderson Rd. STE 221 Columbus, OH 43220). A private burial will follow for the family on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
Dave will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that his love and legacy endure.
