David "Dave" Robert Burge Sr.'s Obituary
BURGE, David “Dave” Robert Sr., age 83, of Bellbrook, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton.
Dave graduated from Bellbrook High School, class of ‘60. Following graduation, he began a long and dedicated career with Delco Moraine, where he worked as an electrician for 32 years before retiring. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to share knowledge and advice with those around him.
Dave was a proud member of the Carvers’ Guild, Bass Pro Shops - Bass Masters Society, and UAW 696. An avid outdoorsman, he found his greatest enjoyment in nature, especially camping, fishing for crappie, and hunting wild game, including turkey and deer. He also had a creative side and was a talented woodcarver, particularly enjoying carving wooden birds.
Family time meant everything to Dave. He especially cherished family traditions surrounding Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July, occasions that brought everyone together and reflected his deep love for family and togetherness. Among many things, Dave will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his craftsmanship in wood carving, his steady guidance and advice, and his unwavering devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. and Lillabelle “Jonnie” Burge. He is survived by his spouse of 64 years, Margaret “Peggy”; his sons, David Burge Jr. and Rick (Linda) Burge; his daughter, Kristine Holderman; five grandchildren, Zach Burge, Casey (Eric) Mountford, Jacob Burge, Maggie Holderman, and Russell Holderman; four great-grandchildren, Braeten Klippel, Emmie Klippel, Zayden Burge, and Colton Burge, with one great-grandchild on the way; and his sister, Middy (Kurt) Hoffhein.
Celebration of life service will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Conner and Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. Brian Bennett will be officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 PM until 12:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
