Dave was a unique individual, whose hallmarks were honesty, hard work and his family. I have known Dave since the early 80's, when I began dating his daughter, Lynn. He became my father in law when I married Lynn and I enjoyed much time spent with him in the following years. Whether during the family gatherings for holidays, birthdays or graduations, on vacations, on the golf course, or just a casual dinner at home, Dave was always pleasant company, and his wit and love of life was always apparent. Dave is without doubt the hardest worker I have known, and he ran his business as he lived his life, with honesty and passion. He had a reputation for quality work, from a simple repair job to designing and building an entire house. Dave was perhaps best known for his masonry work. I had the pleasure of owning a home built by David C. Frederick Construction, and another in which Dave did major remodeling. Both of the houses had fireplaces built by Dave, and those fireplaces were designed and constructed to be showpieces of his mastery of the art of masonry, They were beautiful to look at and they burned and breathed so efficiently that I believe you could have used them for forging. He would always find time to help out a friend, or even a stranger, in need. One trait that I grew to admire in Dave is his honesty. You always knew where Dave stood and your own standing with him. It was a privilege to have had Dave in my life. As his many friends and family will attest, he will be sorely missed.
