Donald "Don" Ernst Jr.'s Obituary
A strong and often stubborn man, Donald "Don" Ernst Jr., of Miamisburg, passed away, Sunday, February 28th, 2021.
Don was born to Donald Ernst Sr. and Ann (Tackett) Ernst on December 2, 1952 in Hillsboro, Ohio. He was employed for JDJ Construction for over 13 years where he worked as a Drywaller. While he worked hard at his job, his favorite ways to spend his time usually involved his 2000 Yamaha Roadstar, a fishing pole, or his grandkids. With his grandkids he enjoyed RC cars and hot wheels, watching them play sports and in some cases helping to coach, and was always Santa at Christmas for their enjoyment. Don had an affinity for flashlights, collecting a large number of them over the years. He liked to go mushroom hunting and browsing at flea markets, and enjoyed visiting the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Daryl Hall, and father-in-law Robert "Bob" Cook, and is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lisa (Cook) Ernst, children Heidi Hall, Walt Ernst, Heather (Jason) Lewis, Tonya Dean, and Christina "Tinga" Dean (John), grandkids Jonathan Chase Ernst, Brandy, Haylee, Brooke, Markus, Cole, Conner, Logan, Ayden, Carson, and Madison, mother-in-law Anna Mae Cook, brother Ronnie (June) Ernst, and close friends Rick Hansford, Ronnie Goodrich, Kelly (Tom) Murphy, and Judy Nesselrotte.
To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to share during his Life Celebration visitation at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home (92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook) on Saturday, March 13th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with Military Honors beginning at 2:00 pm. The family invites you to continue the celebration from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm at the Miamisburg Moose Lodge (2110 E. Central Ave, Miamisburg, OH 45342).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Don's Memorial Fund (Wood Forest Bank, c/o Lisa Ernst (#...3678), or through the Conner & Koch webpage ( https://www.connerandkoch.com/funeral-pay). You are also welcome to write a condolence, plant a tree, or share a photo of Don at www.ConnerAndKoch.com.
During this difficult time, if you are feeling ill or unhealthy in any way, you are encouraged to pay your respects in alternative methods, such as, sending a sympathy card or sharing a memory through Don's online book of memories.
