Donald "Don" L. Jones' Obituary
JONES, Donald L., age 86, of Bellbrook, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024.
Don worked several years for 7 Up before starting a long career with Pepsi. He ultimately retired in 1998 after 30 years of service with Pepsi, working in many roles, including manager and assistant vice president.
Hard-working and driven, Don was a perfectionist at work while always maintaining a funny sense of humor with family and friends. His quick wit was usually followed by a wry smile. Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren by going to movies, watching ball games, and going out to eat. Neighbors could find Don sitting on his front porch where they could join him in conversation, and if they had a dog, he always had a treat for the dog. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and an even bigger fan of the The OSU Buckeyes. He greatly enjoyed going to the Kettering Rec to work out and visiting casinos for excitement and fun. He and his wife, Barb, enjoyed traveling to Biloxi, Mississippi, and Daytona Beach during the winter months, which became a fond tradition for many years. While employed at Pepsi, he traveled to several exciting locations, including Hong Kong, Europe, Hawaii, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Among many things, he will be remembered for the pride he had in working for Pepsi and showing off his Cadillac. If you wanted to get Don talking, you just had to mention one of those topics.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barb, in 2018; his parents, Houston and Ruth Jones; and his brother, Dennis Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Pam (Mike) Conover; two grandchildren, Jenna (Adam) Green and Tanner Conover; and three great-grandchildren, Rylan, Maddie, and A.J.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. A life celebration service will immediately follow the visitation at 6:30 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. A committal service and burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 8, at Bellbrook Cemetery. The family encourages those wishing to attend the burial to meet at Conner & Koch Funeral Home around 10:30 AM to be included in a funeral procession up to the cemetery.
