Doris Jean Taylor (Comford)'s Obituary
Doris Jean Taylor, age 90, of Bellbrook, passed away Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born March 15th, 1930 to Elsie (Riley) Comford and Daniel Comford. Doris was a 1948 graduate of Central High School, Xenia. She previously worked as a Teachers Aide for Centerville Schools.
Doris was passionate about dancing, especially the Jitterbug and slow dances with her husband Bill. She was a talented seamstress who sewed quilts, curtains, outfits, and anything else that needed sewed. Doris thoroughly enjoyed traveling and staying in hotels, especially to New York City and cruises, where she and Bill won several dance contests. She loved theatre on Broadway, and locally at LaComedia, the Victoria Theatre, and the Schuster Center. Doris loved her grandchildren and she will be lovingly remembered for baking Christmas cookies, buckeyes, orange cookies, and helping others in need. She was as active as the "energizer bunny" who also loved to read books especially romance novels. Some of her favorite music is from the Glenn Miller Band, Lawrence Welk, and the Lennon Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her her parents, husband William Franklin Taylor in 2017, daughter Cathy Michelson, sister Patricia Caraway and her brother Cloice Comford.
Doris is survived by her son William D. Taylor (Rose), daughters Denise Young (Ricky), Dawn Shover (Carl) and Tonya Disbrow; twelve grandchildren, Leizell, David, Michael, Nicole, Clint, Aaron, Zachary, Lindsey, Brett, Brittney, Trevor and Mitchell; 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews..
To help the family celebrate Doris' life, you are invited to her visitation at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home 92 W. Franklin St. Bellbrook, Ohio 45305 on Friday, January 29th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Life Celebration Services will be held Saturday, January 30th at 10:00 am at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home with burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia. In memory of Doris, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children (https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/)
