Edith (Shepherd) Neeley
Edith was born Aug. 6, 1926 in Salyersville, Ky to Grace (Bailey) and Roy Shepherd. She passed away Mon. Jan. 20, 2014 at the age of 87. Edith enjoyed gardening, sewing and decorating, and she was talented at refinishing furniture and floral design. She will be remembered mostly for her spectacular cooking and strong faith in God. Edith was a selfless person who used her talents and passions to serve others. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Vernon Shepherd and great-grandson Jaesun Bingamon. Edith is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas R. Neeley, one daughter Vivian Neeley (Jim Bingamon) of Beavercreek, one son Greg Neeley (Becky) of Dayton, four grandchildren Julie, Grant, Scott and Grace, one great-granddaughter Mara, two brothers Charles Shepherd (Jackie Goforth) of Lebanon, Gene Haskell Shepherd (Barbara) of Memphis, Tenn., one sister Thelma Arnett of West Chester, and two special friends who were like daughters Marcella Caskey and Kellie Lovejoy, both of Fairborn. The family will receive friends Sat. Jan. 25th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (noon) at CONNER & KOCH, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). A celebration of Edith’s life will immediately follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. Mark Stusek officiating. In memory of Edith, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 31 W.
