Thompson, Edmonia "Edie"
of Waynesville, passed away Friday September 30, 2016 at Hillspring of Springboro. She was born March 12, 1928 in Ashland, Kentucky to Stella (Smith) and George Allen. When she was younger, she sang gospel music on the radio with her friends. She also took delight in dancing to 50's music. Before retiring, Edie enjoyed her position as office manager in a dental office for more than 25 years. She loved painting carousel horses and porcelain dolls and selling the horses in Waynesville antique stores. Edie also enjoyed Duke basketball and reading autobiographies. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph King, and sisters, Peggy, Jean and Pauline. Edie is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Thompson, daughter, Sandie Paxton and her husband Dan; granddaughter Jessica Young and her husband Ryan, and their children Cloe and Paxton, all of Barrington, Illinois; sister Naomi of Kentucky; and brothers Don Allen and his wife Carol of Xenia, and Ray Allen and his wife Ruth of Miamisburg. You are invited to wear Duke basketball attire to Edie's life celebration visitation on Sunday October 2nd from 4-6 pm at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Funeral Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). Life celebration services continue on Monday at 11:00 am where you will experience the attributes that made Edie unique.
