George Terrance Innes' Obituary
Innes, George Terrance "Terry", age 71, of Xenia went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 24 at Hospice of Dayton. Terry was born September 3, 1944 in Elyria, Ohio the son of George C and Jenny (Krusz) Innes who preceded him in death. Terry was an excellent salesman receiving top sales in many different positions before retiring in 2003 from Varnell Struck Associates. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era stationed in Germany and the Upper Peninsula, Michigan. He was a member of First Church of Christ, Xenia and the NRA.
He is survived by his soul mate, lifelong partner and wife of 41 years, Barb (Davis) Innes; he was a wonderful father to Kelly (Lenn) Shults of Beavercreek and George Michael (Lora) Innes of California; "Pappy" to two grandsons: Tyler Jon and Mason Michael Moeggenberg of Beavercreek. He is also survived by a sister, Robin (Dale) Kaminski of Elyria; a brother, Dennis (Melanie) Innes of Wellington; a sister-in-law, Sue Innes of Vermillion, and a brother-in-law, David Minnillo of Elyria, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Terry is preceded in death by his brother, David Innes, and sister, Rebecca Innes Minnillo.
Terry loved spending time with his family, sharing stories and words of wisdom, and keeping life full of adventure. He had a passion for the outdoors–tending to his yard, target shooting, swimming, and building campfires. He will be remembered by his grandsons for pulling his cart through the woods on their many adventures. He was a gifted artist with a special ability in wood carving. Terry's love for life, patience, and positive and caring spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Join the family as they celebrate Terry's life with a visitation on Saturday, April 30th from 12-2 p.m. at First Church of Christ, 441 Ledbetter Rd, Xenia. A life celebration service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Andy Spencer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
