Geraldine "Gerry" Woods' Obituary
The queen of hospitality, Geraldine "Gerry" Woods, age 95, of Cincinnati, passed away Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 peacefully at her home.
She was born on November 13, 1925 to Lester and Goldie (Gillespie) Casterline. In her younger years, Gerry worked as a waitress and developed her natural gifting at serving others and providing hospitality. She worked for many years in the claims department for Ohio Casualty Insurance, but was most dedicated to her work at Jack Woods Photography, helping the love of her life with a wide variety of tasks and filling the gaps whenever she was needed. She was a devoted and giving wife, spending 77 of her 95 years as a part of a sweet and successful duo. Together, Gerry and Jack, were able to travel the world, lead small groups and Sunday School classes, and raise a beautiful family. Gerry loved to entertain, always making the most delicious food. She enjoyed caring for her rose bushes, staying up to date on the latest fashions, leading women's ministries, and anything coconut.
Gerry has now been peacefully reunited with her loving husband, Jack Woods, parents Lester and Goldie (Gillespie) Casterline, and brother Jimmy Casterline. This one-of-a-kind lady will be deeply missed by children Richard Woods (Terri), Jack D. Woods (Donna), and Janice Putnam (Bobby), grandchildren Jack Loren Woods (Shellie), Bill Roberts, Wendy Ferron (Bobby), Brent Roberts (Vanessa), Jeremy Woods (Sophia), Leslie Woods, Melissa Woods, and Nikki Woods, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
