Wright, Geraldine “Jerry”
A lifelong Bellbrook resident, Geraldine was born June 23, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio to Clara Belle (Shafer) and Ruben Bridenbaugh. She was a 1948 graduate of Miami Valley School of Nursing which began a passionate career as an RN until retiring as the Lincoln Park Resident Nurse. Jerry was among the last class of the Cadet Nursing Corps. She was a member of Parkview Nazarene Church, a recipient of its Distinguished Service Award, volunteer in the nursery, and a member of the Nazarene Missionary Guild. She was a member of the Bellbrook Lioness Club, Child Conservation League (CCL), and Miami Valley School of Nursing Alumni. Jerry was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes Football and the Cincinnati Reds. She enjoyed baking, gardening and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carl “Doc” Wright (2010). Jerry is survived by her son David (Debbie) of Evans, Georgia, son John (Kathy) of San Diego, California; six grandchildren Chris (Melanie), John Jr. (Stacey), Carl (Leah), Dan (Grace), Tasha, and Tony (Chelsie); and sisters-in-law Marjorie Bridenbaugh and Ruth Evelyn Bourne. You are welcome to attend a life celebration visitation on Friday September 4th from 6-8 pm at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Home, Bellbrook (937-848-6651). The life celebration service will be held 10:30 am Saturday at Parkview Nazarene Church with Rev. Ron Justice officiating. Interment will follow at Bellbrook Cemetery. In memory of Jerry, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or Parkview Nazarene Church (envelopes will be provided).
