Gregory S. "Greg" Hensley's Obituary
A good-hearted and hardworking Husband, Dad, and Grandpa, Gregory S. "Greg" Hensley, age 68, of Bellbrook, passed away on Thursday, March 26th, 2020.
Greg was born to Roy and Marilyn (Coriell) Hensley on September 20, 1951 in Dayton. He graduated from Bellbrook High School in '69, where he was involved in many sports and even held the record for "Most Touchdowns in a Single Game' for many years. He was employed with the State of Ohio as a Maintenence Supervisor, but his work extended far beyond that into other jobs and even using his carpentry skills to build a home for his family.
Golf. Greg's favorite word, activity, and place to be, especially if it was in Hilton Head where he could enjoy a plate (or two) of crab legs with Kim afterwards. In his younger years, he loved to play softball often bringing the girls along for a triple header. He also enjoyed watching sports, cheering on the Raiders, UD Flyers, and the Reds (when they were good). He loved the Dairy Shed, the color blue, John Wayne westerns, and taking photos of places he went and people he loved.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marilyn Hensley, brothers Gene Hensley and Doug Hensley, and first wife Rita (Supper) Hensley.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Kimberly Hensley, daughters Amy Renee Barnes (Kirk), April Gehle (Brian) and their daughters Aubriana and Savannah, and Cassie Hensley and her son Cason, step-daughters Jenifer Montgomery and her children Lexi, AJ, Avery, and Ashley, and Lauren Tucker (Todd) and their sons Oliver and Dexter, sisters-in-law Regina Hensley and Barbara Hensley, and many wonderful nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends and fellow golfers.
To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to attend a Graveside Service at Bellbrook Cemetery (3939 Upper Bellbrook Rd, Bellbrook, OH 45305) on Monday, March 30th, 2020 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The American Heart Association (300 S. Riverside Plaza, Ste 1200, Chicago, IL 60606-6637).
