Gweneth Alta Williams' Obituary
Williams, Gweneth Alta. (83) slipped out of this life and into the arms of Jesus, her Savior on Dec. 27th, 2024. She was the daughter of Charles and Gweneth Bennett of Kuna, Idaho, now deceased.
She attended Kuna School and graduated in 1959. Gwen attended Cedarville College and later accepted a position in the business office. She attended Emmanual Baptist church in Dayton Ohio where she met the love of her life, S. E. (Sheryl Eugene) Williams. They married in 1965. The Lord blessed them with two daughters, Carol (Adam) Middleton of Centerville, Ohio, and Karen (Daniel) Kern of Charlotte, NC. Gwen had four grandsons: Klark (Kristin) Middleton of Waynesville, OH, Grant (Halee) Middleton of Rapid City, MI, Cyler Kern of Charlotte, NC and Mason Kern of Charlotte, NC. She has two great-grandchildren, Lainey of Waynesville, OH and Amos of Rapid City, MI.
Gweneth has two deceased brothers, Lowell (Sandy) Bennett and Chuck (Lea) Bennett. Two remaining siblings, Carolyn (Stan) Young and Robert (Dianne) Bennett along with many nephews and nieces.
For many years she served Emmanual Baptist Church as the church’ administrative assistant and volunteered in many areas of the church from the children’s ministry, floral arrangement and the choir. For the last 22 years she has been a member of Emmanual Baptist of Bellbrook.
Gweneth loved serving and loving her family. She enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners and was always hosting family gatherings and assisting at church functions. Gweneth also loved to watch her grandson’s playing baseball, basketball and spent many hours on the floor playing with the grandchildren and sorting out Legos! Gweneth was known as “Mammom” to all. S.E. and Gwen enjoyed vacationing in Clearwater, FL, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head. They also enjoyed playing golf in their later years.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bellbrook. Darrell Messer will be officiating. Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Cedarville University in her honor. The family would also like to thank the 5th floor nurses, aides and emergency department staff of Miami Valley South Hospital for the caring and loving support shown during Gweneth’s time with them.
