I came to this site to check on something about my dad, Elmer Arling. Reading about your dad - well he was awesome! He seemed to be a man of integrity, a very busy man, but was ways involved in his children's lives. My dad too. He was a committee member and treasurer of Bellbrook Boy Scout troop 75.My parents loved to watch their grandkids play soccer and every year went to the Lions Club festival. To the Family:I am Wynn Rollert, w6cdr a fellow amateur radio enthusiast who had the pleasure of being friends with Fred for 25 or more years. We have done many projects together over the years and his knowledge and expertise and friendship has always been so appreciated. We spent many hours together at the Ch 16 auctions through the years, which we know were very important to him, and always had great time together. Want to specially thank him for the opportunity to be a guest at the transmitter site at 16 at 1 am to be part of the historical final moments of the analog transmitter and the first moments of the new digital tv transmitter and the allowance to have my radio equipment on the 16 tower. He always went above and beyond in our friendship and projects. His silent key will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Please let me know if you need anything.
