Hampton T. "H.T." Robinette's Obituary
ROBINETTE, Hampton T. “H. T.”, age 91, of Wilmington, formerly of Bellbrook and Beavercreek, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Continental Manor in Blanchester.
H. T. honorably served in the United States Army, where he developed his appreciation for construction. For most of his life, he was a carpenter. He worked for several companies throughout his career, including Swango Homes, where he retired in 1997.A faithful man, H. T. was a member of Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Spring Valley.
H. T. enjoyed spending time outdoors and had a lifelong appreciation for gardening. He especially enjoyed flower gardening and occasionally grew vegetables. A gifted carpenter and woodworker, he built furniture, end tables, and clocks by hand. He also loved traveling, especially family trips, and spent many weekends RV camping and fishing at Cowan Lake with his first wife, Marie. In addition, it was also a tradition to travel to Branson, MO with his second wife, Norma. He would occasionally travel to Florida and soak in the sun. H. T. was known as very honest, hardworking, gentle-spirited, and particular, especially when it came to his woodworking; he wanted it to be perfect. Holidays were always cherished times with H. T.; he would spend the night at his daughter’s, which made them even more precious. He enjoyed collecting watches and men's Avon bottles. You could always hear him listening to bluegrass music, and he especially enjoyed Ralph Stanley. Among many things, he will be remembered for the love and pride he had for his family.
H. T. was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary “Marie”, who passed away in 1991; his second wife, Norma, who passed away in 2012; his parents Hampton and Martha Robinette; his infant daughter, Tanya Robinette; his daughter, Kimberly Robinette; one brother, Jack Jones; and his four sisters, Irene Lovell, Jenny Davenport, Wilma Paul, and Janelle Stewart. He is survived by his daughter, Penny (Roger) Van Hoose; two granddaughters, Misty Collins (Matt Roberts) and Myra (Nick) Andrews; four great-grandchildren, Destiny, Hunter, Haylea, and Lylah; four great-great-grandchildren, Malcolm, Arlo, Journee, Novalee, and one on the way; sister, Julia Hampton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Fairview Primitive Baptist Cemetery with Joseph Robinette and Shannon Payne officiating.Condolences at https://www.connerandkoch.com.
