Harvey Wayne Oakes

I am Mr. Oakes Humana nurse that lives in Florida, and would call Mr. Oakes once a month through the Humana Cares program. He was one of my first members 3 years ago. He would brighten my day when I called him. He touched my heart in so many ways. He was a very kind, good hearted person and yes, truly loved the Lord. He listened to suggestions I had for him to better his health and was so proud to tell me at that next phone call. He so loved his wife Evelyn and it would show in the monthly calls to him. Talked about his children and how proud he was of them. My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire family and friends. I will truly miss him. RIP Mr. Oakes!

I just thought Dad would want me to say this. Our Family is deeply appreciative of what Brian Koch has done for us for Dad's service.
He has helped us with almost all of our funerals in the last few years. He has a Great Heart toward people and trying to make this as easy as possible for us. Dad thanks you thru us (His Children and Evelyn)Brian Koch. We love you very much for your care for people. And I have personally been to his Grief Support Groups and they helped me an awfully lot. Did not bring my loved ones back but
helped me reason w/other people who has lost loved ones to know some things and helps to get thru our grief. Donna & Brian did these classes together. Special People for Sure.

I don't know if you remember me, I attended Belmont church of Christ in the late 70's and Rex baptized me. I was always with the Holley's and Carol McCoy. I wanted to send my sympathy to all of you in the passing of your dad. May God be with you. Karla

My Dad had a Great Personality. People liked him and remember a lot of service he did as a Christian when he was a bit younger. He helped take older people to the grocery when he was at Belmont Church of Christ. Dad was a greeter at church as well as at Wal-Mart.
Dad never saw a stranger. Dad loved people. Most of all he loved His God. He just was telling Allen lately to "Praise God Everyday for what God has done for you".

He told me lately whenever he was out and about and talking to people
he asked them if they knew Jesus. Some people don't like that but he did it nicely I am sure.

He was always willing to talk about God things to me over the phone and we had good talks also. We was remembering a lot of what God taught us thru the ages (calling it to our minds while we talked).

We (my family) always had times (not just at church) that we wanted
to talk about God and Spiritual things. It was good for us to do that. Adrian liked to talk to us also like that. He would just drop
in and wanted to go there talking about God.

I loved all of my Family and some of my family not here anymore. I always will remember them. I think my Family had good hearts and we knew we was not perfect but we had good hearts. And God loves a person w/a Pure, Good Heart.

Everyone, if Dad had one thought to tell you about he would say "Get to Know your Savior and God in the Bible". It will make a difference in this life and eternity to come. Read Your Bible is a starting place to get to really know God and how much he loves you and what a wonderful thing he did for us thru Jesus.

Dad had a tender heart and could shed a tear really easy.

I am so sorry to hear of Harvey's passing, my heart and prayers go out to all the family. We lost our Mother, Marie Ozias last year and we know what a hard thing is it to go through the loss of your parent...God bless you and know that others are thinking of you during this hard time in your lives..
