Basler, Hilda S.
101, of Legacy Village Assisted Living in Xenia, OH, formerly of Phoenix, AZ, passed away Wed., Sept. 9, 2015. She was born March 18, 1914 in Baltimore, MD to Clara Agnes (Mateikat) and the Rev. Hilko Swyter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles G. Basler. Hilda is survived by her two sisters, Ruth S. Boyer of Niantic, CT, and Esther C. Houk of Xenia, OH; nephews Lance Boyer and Robert Colaner, niece Cynthia Colaner, and a host of grand nieces and nephews. When she lived in Phoenix, Hilda was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Phoenix, and sang in the choir. She retired from the Beatitudes Living Retirement Community where she worked as an administrative assistant. Hilda will also be lovingly remembered for her dignified appearance and her dry wit. A life celebration memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Sat., Sept. 12 at the Legacy Village Community Room. Her nephew, Rev. Robert L. Colaner, will officiate.
