Jim Schieman's Obituary
A caring, and easy-going man, Jim Schieman, age 92, passed away on Sunday, May 16th, 2021 and was reunited with his beloved wife.
Jim was born on September 18th, 1928 to Mildred (Reese) and Luther Schieman. Jim attended Patterson Co-Op and then became employed at NCR as a Tool & Die Maker. After 35 years, he then began working for General Motors, where he stayed until he retired.
Jim was a passionate and loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed season tickets for many years and later kept up by watching or even listening on the radio whenever he could. Jim loved to be with his family, and made sure to go on a vacation every single year while his kids were growing up, often to St. Pete, FL., but sometimes to places like Canada or Washington D.C. Twice the entire extended family, grandkids most importantly included, were able to go to Disneyworld. Jim didn't just enjoy traveling on vacation, he and his wife Carma also frequently traveled an hour or more to eat at a special place they wanted to try. Jim always made the hobbies and interests of the grandkids a priority, enjoying things like the Pinewood Derby, musicals, and sports talk with them; He really knew how to make you feel loved.
Friends and family will always remember that Jim kept Tootsie rolls and mini M&Ms out at all times, he cared for his lawn as though it were a sacred duty, and that he and Carma had the best Memorial Day parties. Jim was a lifelong member of the Bellbrook United Methodist Church, and is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Carma (Helfinstine) Schieman, parents Luther and Mildred Schieman, and brothers Donald and Kenneth Schieman. James is survived by daughter Lori Fenty (Chuck), son Rob Schieman (Lauren), grandchildren Brandon Fenty (Lauren), Elisa Fenty, Zac Fenty, and Konner Schieman, and great-granddaughter Lindsay Fenty.
