Jimme Christian "Jim" Lutz's Obituary
An aviation enthusiast with a unique sense of humor, Jimme "Jim" Lutz, of Bellbrook, Ohio made his final flight logbook entry and passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 2nd, 2021. Jimme was 84 years old. A native of Sheldon, Iowa, and was the eldest son of Esther and Alfred Lutz. Departed sisters are Mary Louise, JoAnn, and Lona.
Jimme was proud to be an aeronautical engineer. HIs first job in aviation was at Ryan Aeronautics in San Diego, where he eventually became a lead engineer and was assigned as a contractor for the CIA involving the Ryan Reconnaissance Drones. Besides his family, Jimme loved everything about aviation. He taught aviation maintenance, designed, built, and flew airplanes. Jimme also enjoyed rescuing dogs and provided loving homes for many. He belonged to the Bellbrook Amateur Radio Club (BARC). He will be lovingly remembered for his wonderful story telling, fondness of Mexican food, and enjoyment of an occasional Bombay gin.
Survivors include his wife Patricia (Patti), two sons Jeff Lutz (Romani), Greg Lutz (Peggy Ferreira), six grandchildren
Cory, Jeremiah (Laura), Stephan (Dani), Jonathan, Sarah, and Jenna; two great-grandchildren Sophia and Tempi, two brothers Tomme Lutz (Tina), and Peter (Donna), mother-in-law Pam "Bling" Knight, sister-in-law Leslie Hamilton (Rex, and departed son Luke), sister-in-law Julie Phill (Greg) and their daughters, Samantha (Andy and their son Jamison and soon to be daughter Vivian) and Kayla (Ron, and their daughters Reagan and Brooklyn); and "adopted" daughter Njeri Mbure.
