Joann Gann's Obituary
GANN, Joann, age 89, of Beavercreek and formerly of Bellbrook, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Fairborn Assisted Living.
Joann was a graduate of Bellbrook High School. She dedicated many years to General Motors, retiring in 1991.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Joann’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Whether it was a casual get-together, a holiday celebration, or a family vacation, her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by her loved ones. She was always there to support her grandchildren, attending many of their events. Her ornery, quick-witted personality could light up a room. Her presence was always known, and she had a natural ability to make others laugh.
A longtime NASCAR fan, Joann, along with her husband, Ralph, enjoyed a special tradition of traveling to Daytona for the race each year. They also created special memories on their trips to Sevierville, Tennessee, where they could relax in a log cabin with family while also driving over to enjoy the excitement of races at Bristol. In addition to her love of NASCAR, Joann was a dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Among many things, Joann will be remembered for her rooster decor, her passion for ice cream, and her pride in her children and grandchildren.
Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gann; one son, Victor Hartsook; one daughter, Andrea Sparrow; one grandson, Jason Hartsook; and her parents, Luther and Eva Kerns. She is survived by her son, Dale (Tammy) Sparrow; her daughter, Lisa Bishop; five grandchildren, Micah Windsor (and her daughters, Blaike and Adasyn), Taylor Bishop, Tyler Bishop, Gage Sparrow, and Jessica Greene; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Kerns (and his daughter, Missie); one sister, Carolyn Pitstick (and her daughters, Christy and Cheri); and good friends of more than 50 years, Judy Clark and Sandy Breeding.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, at Bellbrook Cemetery. Conner and Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to Feed the Creek. Condolences at www.connerandkoch.com.
