Joanna C. Sayger's Obituary
SAYGER, Joanna C., age 52, of Middletown and formerly of Bellbrook, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at her residence.
Joanna graduated from Bellbrook High School, class of ’90. After high school, she attended Carousel Beauty College and worked as a hair stylist for several years.
Caring and friendly, Joanna had a quiet personality, a fun sense of humor, and was extremely devoted and loving to her daughter. She was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed immersing herself in the pages of a good book. She grew up attending First Baptist Church of Kettering and participated in church camp at Seneca Lake. While she was young, she was frequently involved with the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed family vacations at Hilton Head Island, Disney World, and Sarasota, Florida. In addition, it was common for the family to visit Kings Island and swim in the pool at Kettering Rec all summer long. Among many hobbies, she took delight in cross-stitching and collecting dolls and frogs. Throughout her life, she always had a special place in her heart for cats. However, the care, devotion, and love she had for her daughter, Alyvia, defined Joanna’s life.
Joanna was preceded in death by a nephew, Trevor Sayger. She is survived by her daughter, Alyvia; her parents, Tony and Judith Sayger; two brothers, Tim (Jennifer) Sayger and Justin Sayger; two sisters, Tabitha (Carlton) Martino and Crislyn Sayger; uncle, Don (Sandie) Sayger; aunt, Sally (Vernon) Bowes; nieces, Julia and Trinity Sayger; and nephew, Matthew Bolton.
Celebration of life services will be 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook, with Pastor Darrell Messer officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made for her daughter, Alyvia, in lieu of flowers.
