John Myron's Obituary
John William Myron, 73, of Bellbrook passed away on February 22, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born to John Francis Myron and Marion Shreck Myron in Fort Belvoir, VA. A military family, John and his siblings moved regularly through out his youth before settling in Fairborn, OH. John attended the University of Dayton where he met Barbara Pape, who would become his loving wife of fifty years.
After earning an MBA from Wright State University, John served in the Army where he attained the rank of Captain. After his service, he and Barb returned to Ohio and built a home on land that was part of Barb’s family farm and where his in-laws patiently taught him many maintenance and repair skills.
Professionally, John earned his CPA and worked in financial, operational, and leadership roles before retiring from LSI Industries in 2017 after 24 years of service.
A life-long learner, John enjoyed reading about history, philosophy, and the relationship between religion and science. In his retirement, he took up writing poetry and essays as a way to examine life’s big questions. John spent free time traveling with Barb, visiting his grandkids, and working in the yard. His family will most remember him for his strong work ethic, living out his values, and putting family first.
Memories of John will be treasured by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Pape) Myron, daughters Melissa Zadell (Mark) and Amanda Olson (Eric), siblings Marianne Kosiewicz (John), Frances Hale (Tom), Jim Myron (Laura), siblings-in-law Bob Pape, Jim Pape (Susan), Carol Swallow (Mark), Ron Wilson, and Eileen Pape, grandchildren Evelyn, Alina, and Bryn Zadell and Emmett Olson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
