Judith "Judy" Colleen Sayger's Obituary
SAYGER, Judith “Judy” Colleen, age 79, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Kettering Heights Post-Acute Care.
Judy graduated from Wayne High School, class of ’64. Following high school, she attended nursing school. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic and her heart for serving others. She worked for many years as a lunchroom lady with the Bellbrook- Sugarcreek School District. This was a role she truly enjoyed, as it allowed her to care for and connect with children each day. She also faithfully served her community by working at the voting polls during elections. Judy was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bellbrook, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served as a leader with Girls of America. Her faith guided every part of her life, and she lived it out through service, kindness, and generosity.
She was proudly known as an “Avon Lady,” a role she absolutely loved. Judy delighted in building relationships with her customers and was especially known for her thoughtfulness at Christmas time. She found great joy in baking and giving her treats to others during the holiday season. She would bake fruitcakes for her Avon customers and share homemade treats such as peanut butter Hershey Kiss cookies and date balls.
Energetic and active, Judy enjoyed working out and participating in aerobics over the years. She began working out at the Bellbrook Fire House, but eventually went to Vic Tanny and TOPS. She loved flowers, collecting Boyds Bears, and, above all, caring for her family. A proud foster parent and adoptive mother, Judy dedicated her life to nurturing and loving those placed in her care. Among many things, Judy will be remembered for her selflessness, her strength, and the way she always put others first. She was most proud of her family, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanna Sayger, in May of 2025; her grandson, Trevor Sayger; her parents, Richard (Evelyn) Albrecht and Ruth Albrecht; and her sister, Bonnie. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Tony; her two sons, Tim (Jennifer) Sayger and Justin Sayger; her two daughters, Tabitha (Carleton) Martino and Chrislyn Sayger; her four grandchildren, Julia Sayger, Trinity Sayger, Alivia Smith, and Matthew Bolton; her two brothers, Richard and Bobby; and her sister, Sue.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. Greg Winn will be officiating. Burial will be at Bellbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 am – 1 pm on Thursday, February 12, at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made toward the funeral expenses.
