RIP Karl.

Marcella and Family,I was sorry to hear of Karl’s passing. I worked for Karl when he was in charge of the STG Dayton Office. He was such a kind and gentle man. It was a pleasure to work with Karl, and he taught us all about how to live life with strong values. My thoughts and prayers are with you.Joanne Duda
I never knew Karl, but I knew his family and from what I've read here it's clear his legacy is carrying forth. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ralston family, but especially Taylor & Lyndsey and the girls. May the Lord bless you and be ever-present with you giving you peace.
Karl was a great neighbor and friend. I cannot even count the number of times he helped out our family - shoveling the snow in my driveway, for instance, I particularly appreciated his kindness towards my son. He loved my navy bean soup, and loved talking politics, and was an all around wonderful guy. Marcella you are in my prayers tonight, I know Karl appreciated your devotion, the love and care you took of him, through several years of illness, was extraordinary.
From your colleagues at the Defense Logistics Agency, our most sincere condolences to you and your family.
Karla, Tom, and the rest of the Ralston family. Please accept my condolences on the passing of Karl. May the Lord be with you all.Gary HolderHarrisburg, NC
During my entire government career I had one supervisor. He was the main reason that I joined the government workforce. I could not have been more fortunate to have Karl as my boss and beyond that he was a dear friend. With his leadership we created a program to support Foreign Military Sales countries that gave them the communication hardware/software to directly order spare parts for their critical defense systems.. Some of my fondest memories of Karl include all the world wide travel we did together in support of this program. He will be missed.
I so enjoyed working with Karl at DLA. We shared many moments together that I shall always cherish. Tom Knapp, the DLA Chief Information Officer, tasked Karl, Bobby Lane, Bud Cline, Jan Zimmerman (deceased) and me to develop a plan to combine the existing 26 Data Processing Installations. A LARGE company had been tasked to complete this study and failed at a cost of $1,000,000. Our group traveled to many sites, developed our options and recommendations, presented to DLA leadership and they approved and selected our recommendation. Karl was an invaluable member of that team. How do I remember Karl: a proven leader; loyal; a man of his word; a devoted Family Man; but mostly, I remember him as my FRIEND. Karl was loved an will be missed!!!!! Lonnie Thompson
Marcella & Family, I so enjoyed talking to Karl, his love of his family that he shared with me along with his smiles. He'd talk about mowing his grass which seemed to never stop! He loved his trees and taught me quite a bit. I have a pin oak tree I planted a few years ago which I will now call my Karl tree because he said it would do well. Marcella I believe you had some trees removed..? Lol I heard about it. He laughed too. He would tell me about your flowers and how pretty they always were. He was always planning things and shared with me the apartment he had being worked on. I have so enjoyed getting to know this man and miss him dearly...I was hoping to attend his ceremony but I have to work. So please know my heart goes out to all of you and he will always have a piece of my heart. Marcella take care of yourself! I am thankful that I got to get to know Karl. He was an amazing man and I will (am) miss him! ❤️
