Kelley J. Lofthouse's Obituary
LOFTHOUSE, Kelley J., age 60, of Spring Valley, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at her residence with family by her side.
Early in her working career, Kelley worked for Cub Foods for nearly 20 years. Following her time at Cub Foods, she earned a Certified Medical Assistant degree and started working for Kettering Health Network as an office assistant. Over the years, she worked at pediatrics practices and, more recently, for the Kettering Breast Center. She was a member of the Southbrook Christian Church and a former member of the Spring Valley Lions Club.
Extremely family-oriented, Kelley was loving, caring, friendly, and giving whenever possible. She greatly enjoyed camping with her family and friends. They visited Longs Retreat with her son and especially enjoyed camping at Cave Lake Park. She also enjoyed crocheting and making blankets. However, spending time with her grandchildren and family is what she enjoyed most throughout her life. During Memorial Day Weekend, Kelley and her family had a tradition of visiting her dad’s farm. She always looked forward to camping, bonfires, riding motorbikes and ATVs, and watching the grandkids hunt for deer each year. The event always included a hog roast. Among many things, she will be remembered for her love of collecting angels and turtles and for how much she loved her little Weiner dog, Chewy. In addition, the family will never forget how good her meatloaf and taco salad was, which she always loved to make during events.
Kelley was preceded in death by her daughter, Grace Elizabeth Lamb; her mother, Rosalee; stepfather, Arthur Hartman; stepmother, Sandra Smith; one sister, Nada Colwell; one brother, Rick Hanser; father-in-law, David Dean Lofthouse. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, David; her father, James Smith; two sons, Tony (Katie) Lamb and Jeremy (Denise) Lamb; nine grandchildren, Grace, Matthew, and Brayden Lamb, Mahaley (Andrew) Rice, Marrisah Winkelman, Kayden and Andrew Lamb, Ethen Espy, and Ashton Lamb; one brother, Louie (A.J.) Hanser; three sisters, Lori (Chris) Carroll, Robin (Sean) DeWine, and Jenny (Bill) Harphant; special nephew, Justin Harphant; best friend, Sue Creech; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 10, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. Burial will be in Middle Run Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 PM on Thursday, January 9, at the funeral home. Pastor Dar Hensley will be officiating. If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
