Khalil Ayed Shtiewi's Obituary
SHTIEWI, Khalil Ayed, age 71, longtime resident of Miamisburg, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, after a full life of love and giving, as well as fulfilling his religious and worldly duties.
A determined and successful businessman, Khalil owned multiple Gold Star Chili and Great Steak & Fry franchise locations, throughout the surrounding Dayton area and other states. He was both family oriented and financially driven, becoming well-known for being humble, honest, and trustworthy in support and commitment to his family, business associates, and the community where he lived and operated his businesses. In addition, he was of Greek Orthodox faith and was always active within the church, most recently while attending St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church in Miamisburg.
Among many things, Khalil will be remembered for having a strong personality, yet a big teddy bear to those who got to know him. He was very interested in politics and current events, always willing to have lively conversations with friends and family. However, he will be remembered most for being a savvy business man, his devotion to his Greek Orthodox faith, and his immense love and support for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ayed and Nijmeh Shtiewi; three brothers, Musa, Michael, and Essa Shtiewi; and his two sisters, Sousan Sayegh and Shams Sayegh. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Faiza Jreisat; two sons, Arwa Shtiewi and Amir Shtiewi; and one brother, Jamil (Maha) Shtiewi.
The House of Glory Gathering for family to accept condolences opens on Thursday, July 24, from 7 to 9 PM in the St. Mina and St. Abanoub Coptic Orthodox Church, 1531 King Richard Parkway, Miamisburg, OH 45342.
A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday, July 25, at St. Mina and St. Abanoub Coptic Orthodox Church, followed immediately by a traditional Orthodox funeral service beginning at 12:30 PM. After the funeral rites, a procession to his final resting place will commence to David’s Cemetery. Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook is serving the funeral.
